The unpainted buildings date back to the 1600's, but they're not in the original shape. They were renovated in the 1700's.

Four families lived in the community. Each "manshus" (house for people) had a name. This is the farmyard of "Derras" ("theirs", "the neighbor's"). The last person living here died in 1964.

The timber was notched to fit, no nails.

There were, and are, plenty enough stones around to fill most your need.

The wood has never been painted.
